Manager - Software QA Engineering will lead a team of Software Developers in Test to automate testing for HP's Poly software applications. The successful candidate should have several years of testing experience and a strong understanding of QA process, specifically around test automation. The right candidate will work collaboratively to establish and improve the overall QA process.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing and implementing Quality Assurance and Test processes and coordinating projects for end-user applications, systems software, and firmware running on hardware, local, networked, and Internet-based platforms

  • Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps

  • Communicate project status and escalate issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners

  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities

  • People management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensure that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development

Education and Experience Required :

  • University degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical area

  • 5 + years of related work experience, including 2 years of people management experience

Knowledge and Skills :

  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining scalable automation platform and tests for software applications

  • Demonstrated Experience with Python and/or Java

  • Demonstrated experience with automation through REST API

  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience with software quality metrics an dashboards
