Summary:

The Senior Regional Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for the preparation of regional reporting, the coordination of Annual budgets and forecasts, cost control and client interface. This job provides support to all accounting and reporting functions including the accounting/reporting needs of CBRE staff members not limited at a regional level.

Job Duties and Tasks:

1.Responsible for all regional accounting activities, including audits, projects and general accounting

2.Supervision of team members including directing activities, establishing goals and objectives, performance evaluation and communicating the CBRE vision

3.Preparation , reconciliation and analysis of various financial reports and supporting budget / forecast schedules

4.Responsible for data integrity and compiling data for special assignment and documents, including monthly accruals as required by the Assistant Controller

5.Analysing and reviewing budget and forecast submissions, including variance commentary, not limited to Annual and quarterly forecasts

6.Provide functional guidance for the region and assistance to CBRE Managers on accounting related issues

7.Interface with client on regional accounting matters

8.Manage accounts associated with CBRE and administration of supporting data, but not limited to inventory and fleet

9.Administer procurement contracts and expenditures, including but not limited to P-Card and employee expenses

10.Assist in improving customer satisfaction survey and ESAT ratings

11.Ensure all labour and technicians recoveries accounted for according to the guidelines

12.Administer service level changes and lease budget information and ensure incorporation

13.Act a single point of contact for SSBC and CBRE as required by the Assistant Controller.

14.Suggest and develop improvements of policies, programs or services.

15.Other duties as assigned

Decision Making Capacity:

Make recommendations on budget issues, accounts payable/receivable issue, expense reports and procedures both operational and financial related to CBRE.

Financial Resources:

This position has commitment authority of $1,000 for materials and labour and $500 for materials only. Prepares general and administrative budget for the District Office and monitors expenditures to ensure budget constraints are met. Orders and sign s for office supplies and equipment. Sets up various office service contracts such as for photocopier or courier. Manages petty cash and handles various cash receipts, bid deposits and bonds. Reviews and verifies expenses, invoices, purchase orders and other contracts.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Qualifications:

More than five years up to 10 years job-related experience.

University graduation or professional certification (e.g. P. Eng, CMA, CGA or equivalent courses)

Knowledge & Skills:

1.Post Secondary training in accounting and computer systems with five(5) to ten (10) years experience in an accounting position

2.Strong analytical skills

3.Strong customer relation skills

4.Ability to lead and be a team player

5.Ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail

6.Strong written and verbal communication skills

7.Advanced knowledge of excel and at minimum intermediate level of access

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation:

1.Preferred CMA/CGA/CA or minimum equivalent training and experience

This is a unionized role with the BCGEU governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. This is a 35 hour per week position and the rate of pay for this role is $43.96/hour. This position is eligible for participation in the Public Service Pension Plan.
