Rady Children's Hospital San Diego Supervisor, Medical Interpreters - Translation Services in San Diego, California

JOB SUMMARY:

RCHSD is committed to continuously improving the patient and family experience by providing medical interpretation services whenever requested, to help the patient, family, and medical personnel fully understand each other, increase patient satisfaction, reduce risks of misunderstanding, and improve likelihood of adhering to treatment plan. The Medical Interpreters Supervisor will plan for and oversee daily operations of the medical interpreters' team, including triaging, scheduling coverage and staff assignment for all requests, and assigning appropriate staff to requests with the appropriate skill sets. This Supervisor will work with the medical interpreters to meet patient, family, and provider needs and may be requested to provide education and training to medical personnel on the subject. The Supervisor will support medical interpreters in daily tasks whenever necessary and exemplify professional behavior. In addition, the incumbent will provide accurate medical interpretation between medical personnel and limited English proficient (LEP) patients and families from the source language into the target language.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

5 Years of Experience

Bachelor’s Degree

Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) or National Board of Certification of Medical Interpreter

Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

7 Years of Experience

Master’s Degree

The expected hiring range for this position is $30.96 to $42.57
