What to Expect

Generac Clean Energy is dedicated to delivering revolutionary Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for our residential customers to improve energy reliability and grid independence. Our software and firmware teams enable these systems to provide a seamless battery backup system for our customers.

Our software stack is built on top of React Native, Rust, Java, MQTT, and other related technologies, with a sophisticated and fault-tolerant architecture that collects real-time data from devices and enables remote configuration and control of the battery systems.

We’re looking for a Technical Project Manager to manage our software product initiatives, delivering new features on aggressive timelines to support key product launch dates. This individual will coordinate many different software and firmware teams, ensuring their success through assessing requirements, identifying risks, managing development schedules, and communicating clearly with project stakeholders.

You will be based out of Reno, NV but will need to travel to other engineering sites as needed: Boston, Maine, and Vancouver.

What You’ll Do

  • Establish and manage programs feature baseline, scheduling, critical path, and technology risk areas for execution.

  • Manage cross-functional dependencies across the software, firmware, and hardware organizations.

  • Build up customer context and relationships to identify software gaps, risks, and opportunities.

  • Identify tactical (exercise operational excellence) and creative ways to overcome obstacles while meeting deadlines despite setbacks.

  • Own key relationships with stakeholders to ensure we are on track to deliver the right features when needed.

  • Keep engineering team organized, motivated, and focused on our goals, always keeping the customer first.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering, Computer Science field, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience working in an organizational role such as Product or Program management.

  • Must be able to understand complex integrated systems and their dependencies.

  • Strong organizational skills along with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and shift priorities according to business needs.

  • Easily and confidently communicate with executive management.

  • Comfortably able to read code to understand what it does.

  • Familiarity with querying and analyzing SQL and NOSQL data is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
