Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Redmond, Washington

The Dynamics 365 Field Service Mobile team is currently seeking a dedicated Software Engineer II with a passion for mobile development, particularly in bringing advanced Copilot features to our users. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to develop and refine our Frontline mobile applications by creating React Native features and building innovative and unique user experiences with Copilot.

As a key member of our team, you will take on the responsibility of implementing robust product features using React Native. You will collaborate closely with fellow engineers, project managers, and UX designers to enhance our product offerings. Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for implementing features for Dynamics 365 business applications to empower Frontline Workers around the world.   • Architect, implement, and optimize end-to-end software applications using technologies like TypeScript, JavaScript, React, React Native, Fluent UI, Power Platform (Dynamics 365 / Dataverse), and large language models (LLMs).

  • Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and other software engineers to determine user requirements, estimate work, build prototypes, and manage the entire lifecycle of new features with a customer-focused approach.

  • Implement feature rollout flags, automated testing, and real-time data monitoring for feature health.

  • Maintain high-quality code using modern engineering practices and tools.

  • Take ownership of technical problem-solving, identify pain points, propose innovative solutions, and implement best practices to improve our products and our customers’ satisfaction.

  • Contribute to team growth through respectful code reviews, provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, and foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Work closely with partner teams to resolve complex system integration challenges for innovation and experimentation.

  • Participate in live-site operations and troubleshoot issues as part of product development and live-site rotations.

  • Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of our products.

Qualifications

Required/Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ years experience coding in one or more languages/frameworks: React, React Native, TypeScript  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience with React/React Native/TypeScript

  • Previous work with React Native in real-world projects, demonstrating proficiency in creating reusable components, handling state, and managing UI interactions.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Dynamics 365/Dataverse)

  • Experience with Adaptive Cards

  • Interactions with LLMs, such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot – including prompt engineering

  • Practical knowledge of building and interfacing with web services+B1

  • Experience with ADO build tools.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
