Wilcox Industries Electrical Manufacturing Engineer (On-Site) in Newington, New Hampshire

Wilcox is currently seeking a full-time Electrical Manufacturing Engineer.  This position is responsible for transitioning designs into manufacturable solutions, as well as sustainment activities, and prototyping. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering and prototyping support with a focus on manufacturability and assembly throughout the design, transition, and sustain portions of the product development process.

  • Generate complete engineering packages (including bill of materials, GERBER files, fabrication drawings and assembly drawings) required to produce products at high volume.

  • Conduct prototype builds in conjunction with operations and engineering teams. Document and implement changes to increase manufacturability and overall yield.

  • Lead troubleshooting of technical issues on the production line. Clearly communicate the plan of action with all stakeholders.

  • Contribute to comprehensive design reviews throughout the product development cycle.

  • Communicate the status of assigned work including current progress, estimated time to completion and risks through digital task tracking and at in person meetings.

  • Work within defined document control processes. Manage the ECAD parts database and data transfer to other internal databases.

  • Analyze designs and conduct parts viability and supply chain analysis.

  • Conduct engineering trainings as requested.

  • Ensures compliance with ITAR, EAR and other federal requirements.

  • Perform other duties as necessary when directed to do so to support business needs. 

    Qualifications and Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, and a minimum of 2 years or relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Strong understanding of PCB design, layer stack-ups, and SMT parts.

  • Proficient in schematic capture/PCB design software, understanding of Altium a plus

  • Proficient in hand soldering, including hot air rework, and fine pitch reflow.

  • Experience with military standards, specifically MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 a plus

  • Familiar with SMT manufacturing line concepts

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.

  • High attention to detail and excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to adapt to modern software and work methodologies.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Regular on-site attendance is a necessary function of this position.
