Key job responsibilities

• One of your primary duties will be coming up with creative ways to enhance or add new software functionality.

• You play a crucial role in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to coding to testing to deploying and maintaining the team's final product.

• You participate in the team's code review process and provide constructive criticism to teammates of all levels.

• You display operational excellence in all of your activities.

A day in the life

• You document what your team’s software does; how it is constructed, tested, and operated; how secure it is; and how it fits into the bigger picture. When new teammates join, you actively train them in these points.

• You work with customers, and peers to understand the business and customer value of your team’s software in order to ensure you deliver the right solutions.

• You effectively make priority tradeoffs between new feature development and operational work.

• You actively mentor other engineers on your team.

• You skillfully negotiate competing priorities, such as adding new features against maintaining existing ones.

Engineers on your team will benefit greatly from the guidance you provide.

About the team

For the biggest e-Commerce platform in the world, we develop and maintain the systems in charge of determining the physical locations/stores/hubs of our customers. We enable consumers all around the globe to search, explore, and purchase whatever they want, whenever they want, by powering the online buying/pickup experience. Our goal is to expand Amazon's worldwide customer base's access to a wide variety of places to choose from and to continually enhance product data to propel a first-rate shipping and pickup experience. Our systems can process millions of TPS from locations all over the world.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
