Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking a Sr. RandD Embedded Software Engineer to work onsite in Hazelwood, MO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Design, Developing and debugging for electro-mechanical medical devices.
  • Developing required documentation, design history files for the electro-mechanical devices.
  • Supervising junior members of the team including contractors in developing those devices.
  • Manage 3rd party contract development of medical devices.

  • Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to a wide variety of projects.
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals.
  • Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models.
  • Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope.
  • Provides solutions which may set precedent.
  • Independently determines method for completion of new projects.
  • Receives guidance on overall project objectives.
  • Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field preferred (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering.)
  • 6+ years related work experience preferred
  • Aptitude to contribute to strategic goal-setting for department/business unit.
  • Software development in a real time operating system environment required
  • Software development for mechatronic systems.
  • Experienece with C, C++, Python a must
  • Experience working in a medical environment to the ISO 13485 standard highly preferred
  • Knowledge of IEC 62304 - Medical Device Software Standard and the application of Risk Management per ISO 14971 desired
