• Working on the delivery of geoscience projects across the different market sectors: energy, nuclear waste, mining, and infrastructure.

• Broad rock mass characterisation, including analyses and interpretation of borehole and laboratory data for geotechnics and fluid flow data.

• Development of geoscience models using 3D modelling packages such Leapfrog Geo, and/or Petrel etc. as well as competent use geotechnical or flow modelling analysis tools for the delivery of consulting projects.

• Undertake analyses with numerical modelling software including tools from WSP (FracMan), Itasca, Rocscience, and potentially others.

• Availability to travel in the UK and internationally to deliver projects to our clients, promoting and presenting WSP in a professional manner at all times in line with our code of conduct and professional expectations associated with your role.

• Contribute with user expertise and guidance to support the development and delivery of new capabilities in the geoscience/engineering space for the WSP FracMan software.

• Production of high quality technical reports and delivery of presentations.

• Liaise with global parts of the WSP business, in mining, infrastructure, nuclear waste and energy.

Your Team

• You will be joining a multidisciplinary team of experts in the UK, with a strong link with our global geoscience community, connecting with the wider WSP earth and environment businesses in delivering work to our clients within all WSP regions globally.

• You will collaborate with talented and diverse professionals for delivering a range of projects across the identified market sectors.

• Our Geosciences team helps clients optimise performance, boost profitability, and operate responsibly. We have a comprehensive understanding of multiple industries and current issues including decarbonisation and understand future ready strategies are critical to countering these issues, capitalising on opportunities, and adding value to businesses.

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree and a postgraduate qualification in geosciences or engineering.

• Registered Professional Membership or working towards.

• Knowledge of numerical modelling software.

• Programming language experience such as Python will be an advantage.

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
