Battery System Validation Engineer

The Role:

The Battery System Validation Engineer will be a member of the Battery System Engineering team with responsibilities for the test and validation of the battery cell, pack, fuel gauging and battery charging systems for products. This will require close cooperation with the design and factory teams. In this role, you will:

Key job responsibilities

Work with design teams to develop validation plans

Verify performance of battery component and system

Write scripts to automate tests

Debug/tune of custom hardware

Report validation status

Work with Compliance on battery certification including CTIA/IEEE1725

Support factory and field issues related to battery.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Shenzhen, 44, CHN

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with EE technical focus

  • 3+ years experience in HW validation/test

  • Experience with Li-Polymer battery development

  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment (multimeters, power supplies, loads, oscilloscopes, data acquisition units)

  • Familiarity with Python, Matlab or other programming / scripting language

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science

  • 3+ years of experience with battery or battery-powered product development

  • Experience with testing and qualifying battery packs

  • Understanding of basic circuit design

  • Familiarity with communication protocols – SPI, UART, I2C, Ethernet

  • Familiarity with Android / ADB / Linux

  • Familiarity with FW charge control architectures
