The Walt Disney Company Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Technician, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida

The Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Technician is responsible for the maintenance and calibration of RCES Utility control systems. Provides emergency response and service restoration in industrial system outage conditions. The position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property. Maintain and update documentation as needed in MAXIMO.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $42.83 per hour.

Responsibilities :

Effectively connect with and support all RCES operations, internal and external departments and customers, and other utility personnel while performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on Instrumentation and Controls devices.

  • Technicians will work with all RCES cast members to form teams when applicable and for any emergency condition.

  • Support I&C maintenance and replacement on both the RCES and customer sides.

  • Support customer/contractor requests.

  • Read and understand schematics and point-to-point wiring diagrams.

  • Assist Engineering and our engineering consultants

  • Operate industrial equipment as needed to complete tasks (i.e. forklift).

Basic Qualifications :

  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license

  • Able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to work from heights and in confined spaces.

  • Able to work extended hours as needed in a variety of outdoor field environments

  • Must have knowledge of OSHA and industry standard lock out tag out safety procedures

  • Proficiency with computing skills using Microsoft Word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strong technical skills in installing, troubleshooting, and calibrating system devices. Devices include transducers, automatic valves, VFDs, PLCs, level sensors, pressure sensors, flow sensors, and SCADA equipment.

Required Education :

  • Must have a high school diploma.

  • An Associates Degree in an engineering-related field is desired
