Description:

• Lead the design and development of defense systems, ensuring they meet stringent specifications and performance requirements • Support the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost restraints • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement solutions • Deliver technical guidance and recommendations to engineering team, helping them understand and drive innovation and advanced protype concepts into automation, modeling and simulation, software architectures, and integration outcomes • Conduct system integration and testing to verify and validate the functionality, performance, and security of defense systems • Participate/lead and coordinate preparation, conduct and closeout of internal and external customers reviews: SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR and Stage Gate reviews • Identify potential risks and cost associated with system development and implementation • Ensure compliance with defense industry standards and regulations

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field preferred • Proven experience in systems engineering within the Defense Industry, 12+ years • Rapid development • Requirements development, management, and requirements configuration control • Demonstrated ability to manage and collaborate across Cross-Discipline Teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, GNC, Manufacturing, Operations, etc…) • Ability to generate block diagrams, interface control diagrams (electrical, logical, software etc… ) • Intermediate experience in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Project and/or other applicable tools • Integration, Test, Verification and Validation Experience • Desired - Model based engineering and tools (MBSE, SysML, Cameo or equivalent) • Desired - Configuration Management Experience • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills • Must be able to verify U.S. citizenship • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances
