Job Summary
Support the Test Engineering functional group with a variety of moderately complex engineering duties including hands-on tasks.
Job Responsibilities
Familiar with a laboratory environment and test equipment
Set up test apparatus and conduct operational testing
Perform cabinet integration testing and troubleshooting
Write test reports to assess the ability of products to perform per specifications
Review project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment needed, nature of technical problem and possible solutions
Set up and conduct tests of assembled units and components
Record results with numerical and graphical data
Analyze test results related to the design and test objectives
Provide hands-on feedback to engineers
Support of qualification testing including test execution coordination in-house and at external labs
Operate Engineering Lab environmental chamber
Fabricate engineering and manufacturing test fixtures from drawings and schematics
Perform test fixture repairs, modifications and certifications
Perform lab 6S activities (cleanup, safety, etc.)
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Qualifications
2+ years of experience and an Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to interpret schematics
Mechanical aptitude and practical knowledge of general hand tools and machine shop equipment
Prior experience soldering
Ability to troubleshoot hardware to the component level
PC skills and experience using MS Word, Excel, and VISIO
Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
