Responsibilities Coordinates activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuing, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in storeroom. Purchases goods and services and follows up on the receipt and distribution of materials, equipment, supplies and services. Utilizes a sound knowledge of the principles, practices, and legalities of purchasing and procurement, and reliable techniques and practices in all aspects of procurement. Negotiates contracts with vendors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned. This position is a full time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position. Reviews and processes routine purchase requisitions for goods and services. Ensures compliance with purchasing procedures and user requirements. Interacts with vendors and departments regarding procurement procedures and status of orders. Maintains and updates product catalogs, vendor files and price lists. Maintains records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines. Reconciles and processes receiving reports, vendor invoices and other procurement documents. Assists in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials. Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports. Assists in the development of a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.
