Your Opportunity

Stantec is currently seeding a part-time Intern to support our environmental services team at our office in Chandler, AZ. As an intern you can expect to carry out a variety of different tasks related to environmental investigation, compliance, due diligence, regulatory, and remediation. You will support the completion of project level work including data management, report preparation/compilation, and administrative support. Significant decisions and deliverables reviewed by higher level staff.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in the management and implementation of various environmental projects.

  • Support could include project documentation (i.e. report preparation, file organization, data review.); attendance at client meetings and various project-related tasks.

  • Assist staff conducting research.

  • Prepare other project documentation as required.

  • Track the processing of incoming and outgoing project documents.

  • Performing other duties as requested.

  • Aid in the completion of research, assessments, reports, and calculations under instruction from senior geologists, engineers, and/or scientists.

  • Compile and manage field data to be used in project work.

  • Coordinate with senior level staff and/or multidisciplinary team members to ensure that the project’s needs are met in a timely and effective manner.

  • Follow established safety standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure safety of yourself and your teams while completing assignments.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Highly motivated and dependable.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.

  • Willingness to learn new skills while undertaking work assignments.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (GIS or AutoCAD experience a plus).

  • Strong technical writing, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Education and Experience

Minimum of one year of college education in environmental sciences, geology, or an engineering field.

Working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related engineering or scientific field.

Junior or Senior status preferred.

Typical office environment includes working with computers and working at a desk for extended periods of time. Candidate must be willing and have the ability to travel and spend time working away from home or office. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
