*SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS *

JOB TITLE: Maintenance Planner I/II/III REQUISITION: NUC00A3 DEPARTMENT: Mechanical Maintenance LOCATION: Wolf Creek – Burlington, KS PAY RANGE:
Level I – 47.19 Level II – 50.21 Level III – 55.78

  • * *POSITION SUMMARY: * Develop work instructions as required to support plant schedules and goals. This includes proper selection of materials, identification of permits, and following specifications, codes and procedures while maintaining the plant design. Support the emergency plan, the corrective action program, training and outage activities.

*PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * • Maintain personal work controls backlog to support plant schedule. • Selection of materials and determine required permits for work and develop necessary and specific instructions for Preventive, Corrective, Modification, Surveillance Testing and Outage work packages with determination of proper Post Maintenance Testing to maintain design control of the facility. • Initiate and evaluate corrective action documents. • Coordinate with support groups and vendor for fieldwork, retrieval, development and storage of documents, and procurement of materials and services. • Perform review of Work Orders including review of documentation. • Develop and review of plant procedures. • Maintain Preventative Maintenance Program. • Develop Minor Maintenance and Troubleshooting guidelines. • Support emergency planning, outage activities and training as identified. • Initiate procurement of goods and services, contract administration, and initial development of project schedules. • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision/management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * *CR 2009-00846 Action 6589 (2009 Technical Training Probation) requires the position of Maintenance Planner, in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical and I&C, to include requisite craft discipline experience. • This positions requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and Welding knowledge and ability. • The Maintenance Planner I requires eight years of related craft experience or a BS degree in Engineering is required. The candidate will not be expected to work independently. Supervision or a Maintenance Planner II or III will normally monitor work products. Duties will be mainly planning of Non-Nuclear Safety Related and non-design work packages. Planning Modification and Special Scope/Safety Related work packages is expected as the candidate gains experience. • The Maintenance Planner II requires ten years of related experience or a BS degree in Engineering and two years of related experience is required. The candidate will be expected to work with minimal oversight. Duties will include planning of all types of Safety Related/Special Scope work packages and development of troubleshooting, corrective and minor maintenance instructions and coordination of vendor support. Two years of planning experience and development of work instructions associated with the civil discipline of work is preferred. • The Maintenance Planner III requires twelve years of related experience or a BS degree in Engineering and four years of related is required. The candidate will be expected to work independently with no oversight. Duties will include the duties of the Maintenance Planner II, preparing ASME Section XI work packages, and development and review procedures. Four years of planning experience and development of work instructions associated with the civil discipline of work is preferred.

• This position requires good oral and written communication skills and a working knowledge of personal computers (to include operation of Windows and Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and perform basic drafting [computer based]) and PC based work controls process (to include: maintaining personal work controls backlog to plant schedules, the ability to read electrical, mechanical, and civil drawings and vendor information, and have a basic understanding of components/systems and civil structures. • This position requires a satisfactory work record including good attendance. • Welding emphasis: Read, understand and effectively communicate design drawings, specifications, standards, engineering dispositions and other applicable information for all Welding related activities. Responsible for maintaining and Implementation of WCNOC Welding Program including the updating of the manual and procedures. Review Change Packages for welding and other code related items. Develop Post Modification Tests. Review material for specification compliance. Coordinate contract welding services and Welder Qualification/Certification/Training. Review and supply guidance for special processes and weld inspections.
