We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join the Core Infrastructure Engineering team! The Core Infrastructure Engineering team manages and automates infrastructure.You will drive technical projects and lead other ICs in accomplishing shared goals within their cross-functional team. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator and collaborator comfortable working across multiple teams and departments.
Intuit Mailchimp is a hybrid workplace, giving employees the opportunity to collaborate in person with team members in our Atlanta and Brooklyn offices two or more days per week.
What you'll bring
You have experience working in cloud environments (eg. AWS, GCP, Azure)
You have experience with container management technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
You have deployed applications or services to a Kubernetes cluster
You have managed infrastructure and services in cloud environments using automated tooling (e.g. Terraform, CDK)
You have experience in Linux system administration (e.g. CentOS/RHEL) and installing software packages
You have experience managing software & services with configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
You have experience troubleshooting network, system, and service level issues using monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) in on-prem or Cloud environments.
You have experience managing highly-available services with load balancing (e.g. Nginx, HAproxy, Cloud load balancers)
You have experience in scripting and coding (e.g. Python, Bash, PHP, Go,JavaScript, and JavaScript ecosystems)
You have experience leading technical projects, identifying dependencies, facilitating technical decisions and team discussions.
Nice to have:
You have experience managing network services (e.g. DNS, DHCP, NTP)
You have managed a Kubernetes cluster, it’s control plane, and nodes
You have experience with migrating data center services to cloud environments
How you will lead
Participate in identifying and prioritizing work, providing expertise, and influencing our team roadmap
Help design, implement, configure, document, and support all technologies that the team uses
Contribute to existing tooling by automating manual tasks to reduce toil, as well as crafting new tools when needed
Work with other engineering teams to implement technologies to support our current and future infrastructure
Share in daily production monitoring and overnight on-call
Share your knowledge with teammates by teaching and facilitating learning opportunities
Provide excellent customer service to our internal customers
Share your knowledge with teammates through code review, office hours, documentation, blog articles, Tech Talks, and other avenues.
Empower team members - including other engineers as well as Technical Support through technical mentoring
Ensure a high standard of service performance by developing SLIs and SLOs for team services
Define and adhere to internal coding standards, development processes, and design best practices.
Ensure quality by performing thorough testing, contributing to the team’s test suite, and leveraging peer reviews for your work and the work of cross functional teams.
